New York City Beer rocks. Sometimes, when you are in the vortex of your home-city’s beer community you take all of the hard work, inventiveness, and sheer brilliance for granted. After all, its hard to jump for joy and cheerlead for a brew that you’ve drank a dozen times before.
But then you bring it all together under one roof and, wow, its really impressive. These brewer’s are working against mountainous production costs in minute spaces in a town that arguably imports the world’s best beers. And yet they are pushing out some phenomenal brews from classic pale ales to wild fermented Belgian-styles.
Last week, Clare Goggins and I got a chance to take it all in at Edible Manhattan’s annual Good Beer I snapped, she sipped, and we put together a list of favorites for our friends at Serious Eats.
