Last week was exhausting so it’s good to see things slowing down a bit this week… no doubt for the double wammy of Passover/Easter week. There is still plenty to sip on Monday through Thursday, however, with the debut of Evil Twin in America and great things around the city from Mikkeller, Brooklyn Brewery, Weyerbacher, Founders and more.
THE WEEK AHEAD
Meet the Evil Twin Beer Dinner (US Launch Event) – Beer Table, Brooklyn, NY
The latest gypsy brewer to hit the states, Evil Twin, debut their beers tonight at Brooklyn’s Beer Table. Beer table will prepare a 5 course dinner paired with 5 different Evil Twin beers. This will be the first time these beers are poured in this country! Both Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø (owner of Evil Twin) and Brian Ewing (owner of 12 Percent Imports) will be in house to discuss the beers. The dinner begins at 7:00 pm and costs $55 per person.
Brooklyn Beer Dinner – The Vanderbuilt, Brooklyn, NY
My favorite Prospect Heights restaurant serves up a five course Belgian dinner paired with Brooklyn Brewery beers. It’s $50 a head and limited seating so be sure to reserve ahead of time.

Two Brothers Night – The Pony Bar, New York, NY
Pony bar pours ten lines from Illinois Two Brothers Brewing Company. Not tap list but a great chance to get learned on their brews.
Weyerbacher Night – Rattle N Hum Bar & Kitchen, New York, NY
A massive list from Pennsylvania’s Weyerbacher brewer decends on Rattle N Hum tonight. Catch old anniversary beers, lots of barrel aged goodness and even a few rare casks. Highlights include their massive Quad on cask, anniversary beers 12 through 15 (13 being my personal favorite) and Insanity, their Blithering Idiot Barleywine aged in oak bourbon casks. The entire tap list is too massive to post here.
NYC Homebrewer’s Guild Meeting – Burp Castle, NYC
If you are serious about your homebrew then these are the folks for you. Tonight’s meeting features Sixpoint’s own Shane Welch. Homebrewer’s are encouraged to bring their brews for discussion
Boulder Night – Rattle N Hum Bar & Kitchen, New York, NY
Back to back Rattle N Hum events this week! Tonight features a massive tap take-over from Colorado’s Boulder Brewery including a lot of barrel aged beers. Highlights include the Saison aged in french wine barrels, Bourbon Barrel aged Obovoid oatmeal stout and an oak barrel aged 2010 Killer Penguin barleywine.
Brooklyn Brewery Exhibition – Blind Tiger Ale House
Brooklyn Brewery’s Garrett Oliver swings by the Blind Tiger tonight to present a veritable laundry list of Brewmaster’s Reserve beers. If you’ve missed them in the past, or just miss them, you can get them again tonight.
Cuvee de Cardoz
Intensified Coffee Stout
Cookie Jar Porter

Wednesday Brewery Night with Mikkeller – Double Windsor, Brooklyn, NY
More gypsy brewer goodness for the Brooklyn Bunch this evening as Windsor Terrace’s Double Windsor hosts a Mikkeller night. Mikkeller’s beers have been getting hoppier as of late and tonight’s list is reflective of that. Hops aside, don’t miss out on the Beer Geek Brunch Weasel coffee stout or the USA Alive!, a version of their It’s Alive wild ale brewed with American Hops.
Beer Geek Brunch Weasel (made with coffee beans that have been shat out by a frikkin weasel)
The American Dream
Single Hop East Kent Golding
Barrier Takeover – Bierkraft, Brooklyn, NY
Long Island’s Barrier Brewing is the one to watch in new, New York breweries. Tonight they bring a good chunk of the portfolio to Bierkraft. No list yet but they don’t really make a bad beer and the ability to sit outside in Bierkraft’s new backyard is an added bonus.
Founder’s Festival – Standings, NYC
If you missed your shot at Founder’s KBS a few weeks back then you can grab yourself a glass on tap tonight along with four other Founders beers and some free pizza.
Even Slower weekend. My liver thanks you.
