There is something down right regal about French cider. The subtle sweetness, the nuance of earthly flavors and even the lively carbonation make these ciders of celebration. My personal favorite has to be Cyril Zangs Cidre (pictured above). The funky barnyard notes remind me, subtly, of the Spanish ciders of Basque country while the earth citrus character hints at finer American ciders or even a classic saison. This is a great summer cider.
