New York City Beer rocks. Sometimes, when you are in the vortex of your home-city’s beer community you take all of the hard work, inventiveness, and sheer brilliance for granted. After all, its hard to jump for joy and cheerlead for a brew that you’ve drank a dozen times before.
Along with the Great American Beer Festival, Extreme Beer Fest, and Belgium Comes to Cooperstown, Savor is heralded as one of America’s premier beer events and one that draws both brewers and patrons from coast to coast. This year, Savor made its way north from Washington, D.C. to New York City. But geography wasn’t the only change at this year’s festival.
The folks behind Get Real NY are quickly making a name for themselves as hosts of some of the best craft-beer focused events in New York City. By bringing together world renowned beers from the likes of Founders, Anchorage, Nogne O, and more with food from some of the city’s top chefs, these events walk the line between gourmet feast and block party buffet. Their latest event, APORKalypse Now, took place on February 25, and was no exception.
With over a dozen chefs serving pork dishes alongside 60+ brews, there was no better place to be if you were into great beer and great pork.
